It was predictable: now as then, Dungeons & Dragons still confirms itself as the greatest Role-Playing Game of all time. Many aspiring monster hunters have flooded the streets of their Masters' imagination, and now the number of monster heads rolling through those streets is beyond counting. Populated dungeons have been explored and re-explored, ancient kingdoms mapped, and cruel nations dethroned by their grim lord. The game rules have been studied and manipulated, discussed and reinvented by players, but throughout all this, the desire to explore and discover new dimensions in the world's most popular hobby has not diminished. Roleplayers are asking for more!
Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen is the manual that finally brings the Fifth Edition of Dungeons & Dragons back to the land of Krynn, one of the most famous and beloved settings of the old-school of D&D. Dragonlance is one of the pillars that allowed the dear old TSR to make its role-playing game a cornerstone of nerd culture in the last century: the origin of countless adventures, books, and an animated series, the universe created by Laura and Tracy Hickman, which first debuted in 1984, was last featured in a manual (now hard to find) for D&D 3.5 back in 2003. Almost twenty years later, the time has finally come to ride dragons, fight death knights, and complain about Kender. The setting that gave birth to names like Lord Soth and Raistlin promises highly romanticized high-fantasy adventures, in a land where fantasy expresses its full potential.
This manual focuses on the events of the War of the Lance, the conflict that is at the heart of the history of Krynn and defines the setting itself. It addresses the army of dragons and their evil servants, and awaits the arrival of the Dragon Queen! This manual includes:
- An epic adventure that will take the characters from first to eleventh level
- Details on the setting of Dragonlance: background elements, character options, features, scenarios, a subclass for wizards of the Tower of High Sorcery, and above all the race of Kender!
- A map depicting not only the continent of Ansalon but also the battlefield of Kalaman
This manual is also playable in parallel with the board game Warriors of Krynn (not included), which may alter the outcome of the adventure in unexpected ways!
